I think it is a kind of massacre for newbies to create/join when they don't have enough upgrades(if they select "enable upgrades" game). I think it should give a warning if they don't have a certain amount of upgrades.

Yea a warning might be good but might just discurage them from playing as the tech tree as it stands is a bit daunting... Personally I just take it easy and dial back the pressure against newer players when I notice them makes the game more enjoyable for everyone

I wanted to take it easy too, but then the newbie skipped me for being late by 1 hour, so i took regular turns and with a single push reduced him to just 1 tc and then stopped playing, i wanted to see if he dared to skip me again but he withdrew
