as workers have low usage endgame i thought they could build these like a building would be (like a catapult) - what do u think?

A buidable unit
Is it a flying unit or just ground?

Their already was a few suggestions stating that skeleton workers should build gargoyles and being that blood fountains are basically buildable gargoyles anyway, I don't see why the shouldn't.

well that was planned anyway by ourselves but later because garoyle requires in this case some balancing:
1. they can capture buildings and are flying. in some cases that can be too overpowered.
2. they need correct construction rate.
3. they currently count for healing type as "living unit" and thus they must be healed, not mended by workers (if that won't be changed they will not even be constructible).

actually they could be mended as they are made of stone? dunno.

Last time i checked them they were not mendable.
But they should be.

I'd always believed that we should had 2 or 3 types of gargoyles anyway, the statue/stone ones, one skeletal and a "real deal flamethrower fiend" like "Gaibon" produced on the altar or perhaps linked to devils.

I think we should have only stone gargoyles, no bones or flaming gargoyles (they are gargoyles if they are made out of stones). I agree that we might have more gargoyles and rebalanced stats. I think that, in general, they should all be pretty impervious to piercing damage, we might just equip them with different weapons or making some different cost units (small gargoyles that are cheap flying units, normal ones and bigger gargoyles, slower but sturdier)
about making them buildable I think it is fine if we make them built a the same rythm of catapults and such units. If they are built with 1hp/worker action I think they can be built. If the small gargoyle requires too few actions we might make it not be able to occupy buildings or just make gargoyles a sub so they require a few techs to recruit the first ones (in that case we might need at least 4/5 units)

we are no longer tied to "actions" count, as we can easily set to build a 3 HP unit in 20 turns. (we have fractional hp value on construction)

cool! then I think there is nothing to prevent us to do this!

I'd say that gargoyles must not be able to occupy buildings. At least buildable ones.

Not even if construction times are long?

i thin they are fine to occupy at first and we will see.

anyway I would set a good amount of actions needed. After all a player can make up to 8 actions per turn on a building site.

I am thinking about maybe adding for undeads more costly obsidian gargoyles.

I like the idea of using the rock material to increase gargoyle variety
I'm thinking the following
Obsidian Gargoyle: pitch black color, sharp glass-like claws, good armor but not so high health, high attack thanks to its glassy structure
Marble Gargoyle: lower hp and armor, white color (it might have some color shades though), magical abilities
Slate Gargoyle: cheaper gray gargoyle, hp and armor similar to marble gargoyle (marble and slate are similar on mohs scale)
Albite Gargoyle: pure white gargoyle, higher hp and armor
Basalt Gargoyle: Dark gray: very high hp and armor but very slow as well
and so on...

Nice starts. Do you want to remake current one as well?

The one currently in the game?

If you mean to remake the gargoyle from the game, then I need an image. In any case, I was planning to draw a brown slate gargoyle.
