Not to be confused with the viking shielded spearman topic this is a totally different unit.
The Viking's Spear is a throwing and thrusting weapon. This simple yet deadly weapon was both the calling card and the Long-Range weapon of the Viking.
The Vikings most likely wielded their spears one-handed. Aside from thrusting, the weapon could also be thrown, and a skilled user could throw two spears at once. Vikings typically carried four spears a piece. The shaft and butt of the weapon could also be used for blocking and delivering blows, similer to the Taiaha or Staff.
The spear was one of the Viking's common weapon since it was easier and cheaper to make, because it requires less metal.
The blade of the Viking spear was abnormally long compared to other spears at the time (8-inches-24-inches), making them similar to the War Lance. If the shaft broke, the Viking could remove the spearpoint and use it as a long dagger.

Too versatile for such small cost.
It's got almost full anti-mounted capabilities, but with more health, basic power and even a little melee armor to be good suited to attacking other anti-mounted and various light melee (bonus against which is a mystery to me). To top that all it gets some ranged ability with damage type to deal with anti-melee specialists.

It seems very long ranged units would be the only safe counter against them.

Also - abilities are added only as main speciality in lower cost units.

And finally - nords already have hybrid anti-mounted with some anti-infantry capabilities with quite similar cost of 4 - vouglier.
