Artillery buildings

A tower with a cannon or mortar on it.
Is this feasible?

sure it is!
mmh i was planning some coastal defenses deadly effective against ships
if u mean tower with artillery...maybe for the early game...towers were easy targets for artillery
for mid and late game something like batteries with fixed artillery could be better
btw something like bastions, walls with small artillery pieces, could be possible too

Also can coastal defences and combat ships have a tech to unlock chain shot? They were shot at enemy masts and would slow down enemy ships. It could have some sort of cooldown but reduce an enemy's speed significantly for a while, or even until mended (like the burning effect)

yes, thats the plan, actually, that effect could dissapear after mending intead of over the time
also, grape shots and the last thing i found: "Carcass" early incendiary bomb:

We already have coastal defence on defensive buildings topic.
A tower with a mortar or handcannoneer in it is nice .
