a game after the ww2 would be exciting and very nice. question would be how far it should go then. until now or e.g. only until the 70s

AOWW had a period since 1 world war (1914-1917) till Korea war (1950-53)

Well, don't you know some WW1 stuff are used in early WW2, and some WW2 war machines are used by less advanced countries in cold war?

I'll be working on this variant.We need at least 6 infantry and 10 tanks for each nation(2 nations)to release the first version.Im thinking about USA and USSR first and then others.
First unit for this game is T54 tank.Tell me what do you think about it so I can make it better if its not good enough!

Shading is very important.
With proper shading, It makes things realistic and more clear.

I mean you know, Stratego's remark is still vaild for both. I can't really help you there as I'm not an image designer but you need to add more shading (=/= shadows) and texture for it too look less cartoonish. Unless that's the intention.

Try t55 (as upgrade to t54), т62, т72, т80, т90, т14 (maybe);
М1 Abrams, centurion (also popular English tank)...
