AOF Vote: How upsetting if we ruin your running games CLOSED

(this is about AOF only)
As title shows this vote is about your feelings if we change the units stats so much that existing units/buildings in a running game could get useless (and only newly trained units will work good)

Please post here your thoughts, and answer this question:

Q: How would u feel if all units in your running multiplayer/campaign games will get too weak as all newly trained units will get much stronger
a) Raging and i would even quit multiplayer or quit playing the game
b) Upsetting but that is all
c) Nothing special, i can handle it
d) no problem at all, i cant wait the changes

Please with the vote, tell me you In-game username too!

Some details:

Planned changes: Upscaling
- a x3 HP (considering units), and naturally their powers too in some way
- and about x10-x20 HP considering buildings
- and all "against buildings" units will be buffed too to be able to rumble buildings (so all siege like units - will get x3 or x15 bonus / or power against buildings)

the BAD Results can be in games:
- these can result in campaign maps maybe needs restarting so all units will be the updated version.
- also multiplayer games can turn to losing for you even if you were in winning earlier
- eg: you have 3 castes in a multiplayer game, but after the update they will all get useless as will be about one hit by any siege weapon or unit (like swordsman type units)
- eg: you have 20 full upgraded knights and all will be so weak after update they will get one shotted easily by anti cavalry units
- Also in general: you well remembered unit stats hp/power and such can get lost and you will need to learn the new ones to play

Reason for change:
- it will be easier to balance the game,
- more scalable
- buildings should have had more hp originally - now they are too weak compared to units.

More specific info about planned changes for aof

As for me if i was not related to the changes it would be a bit annoying but nothing special. Game is evolging so if you like the game you will accept it, thus c).

Also additional info:
We made this voting because we want to prepare community and ask them if they can accept it.
If there will be too many "a" answers most of planned chances will be aborted.

As for the question, I would answer with b) - that would be hella annoying, but quitting the game over it makes no sense.

What I am the most concerned about is the campaign maps that don't have any siege units yet hostile fortifications becoming impossible. Editing those is a pain and we already have a ton of problems with this. I wonder if even normal units might take longer to kill after the change, making more maps impossible.

Tbh this is a ridiculously huge change to throw in to a full of issues game that's been running for years. You guys better have real good reasons for this change and have the game go into the right direction once it's in.

I would like to clarify the third point of Macazuvr. The fact that mega-buildings will be considered fortifications means that they will stop producing troops?

As for voting, my answer is - d).

As for the update: I have long been in favor of strengthening buildings because destroying a mega building with 2 burning sticks looks ridiculous. In my opinion, the key to an interesting game is that the defense should be stronger than the attack, so people will have to think about taking the fortress, and the defender can prepare for a counterattack.

maps will be fine if they get restarted (if they were accidentally in progresS) all unit on them will be the new type even buildings.
real good reasons: yes we still discussing it...

No they will still produce units. Even more there will be multiple mega buildings per race and each will have different production.
"Fortification" category is required only for bonuses.

I must mention that ALL units will get their stats upscaled same way. Infantries, cavalry, giants and so on. Humans, orcs, undeads, elves...

This must be interesting, considering the many changes to the units and buildings, as you said, will definitely affect the campaign and everything else (scenario map and multiplayer mode), and will cause a lot of trouble at first, but considering the reasons (simplify the balancing process) Surely the problems that existed at the beginning can be resolved over time, in my opinion we just try it first, for the answer to the question I choose B.

C, I have only 1 multiplayer game currently active, and it is me and a random person against an A.I. so I wouldn't mind much. My worry is that if spearmen are one shotting cavalry now, there would be no use for cavalry. Also it is inaccurate because if a heavy knight wearing tough armor gets taken out by some lowly creature carrying a spiky stick, something must be wrong.

In game name is SharkGuy35

Shark guy you misunderstood, that will happen as a result of the change. When all the units will be after the change, nothing should change in that regard.

I'm used to bigger changes here.
I have to wait and see how it turns out.
Main issue would be with campaigns .

I am Orok In the game
I would opt for "C" since the game is constantly changing, whatever is for a better gaming experience, even if it is true that in multiplayer maps the results would vary when the statistics changed in the games already started, in short it is just a game to have fun!
