In Age of Fantasy, when playing the orks and the Merlock upgrade is selected and becomes active, the Merlocks with tridents already on the map don't upgrade. Also, town centers and docks continue to produce the non-upgraded trident Merlocks. To produce the upgraded units, each town center and dock has to be selected and the newer Merlock selected. All the other units in the game automatically upgrade both on map and produced units.

Yes, the ork/goblin upgrade has been completed when the Merlock upgrade becomes available. The upgraded Merlock can then be selected to be build. However, town centers and docks already building the trident Merlocks don't AUTOMATICALLY start building the upgraded units. You have to go to each town center and dock and select the upgraded Merlock or they will continue to build the old unit.

Trident Merlocks already on the map remain the old version after the upgrade is achieved.

@Stratego (dev) how can we correct this problem?

this must be a wrong setting.
everywhere alse upgading works nicely - or is here any speciality?

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this problem, or someone else has before.

Basically just get merlocks hut, orcs tent, and goblins tent and research the upgrades while producing merlocks, and merblins. (add a few of the units on the map too)
After researching those techs, you should have the starting level merlocks and merblins on the map still as well as in the production in the factories still, go in the factory and check your production list and you'll find that those units are upgrades.
