So I'm thinking an artillery unit that is a crawling bug with a big abdomen with an mortar like opening.
Mortarback basically lobs acidic liquids into the air, and splash onto enemies. The acid can devastate infantry and also decent against buildings, just not effective VS vehicles and armoured units.

That's very similar to already planned stink bug and antlion artillery. You should always search to forum to check if a similar suggestion wasn't made already.
