I think is fact the men use a chariot,the bonus gains mounted needed a bit weak.

Well chariots were slower than the war horse that the knights use.
Thr horses back then were smaller.

I think cost can be reduced to 3. Hence "chariots" is defined together.
Just a suggestion.

Im not sure if all chariots(Excluding javelineer) should cost 3.

How could you use a lance on a chariot? If you striked someone youll get launched off the chariot and you can only strike at the sides making your charge even weaker and the fact that you would need a safety harness to save you from the fall makes this unit a not so possible unit and chariots came before stirruped saddles which are made for knights for lancers.

Oops, I didn't think reality that much. I thought charioteers wielded lances.
I got excited since I now use chariots. Setting the title to answered.
