When I updated aos I started at level 13. Is it intentional?
I thought xp would be farmed?

starting levels are calculated basedon the completed campaign maps - you probably have very many (maybe all?) competed right?

Most of the easy and moderate campaigns are finished.
Hard is the only one with many uncompleted campaign maps e.g. prison planet, age of nyadhos, savage story etc.

Is 13 high or low? I don't knw.

I'm 13 too, with somewhere between 450 and 500 stars collected.

Do already finished MP games count for the total as well?

The point of level is great. But my suggestion is that , what if a reward, a random skin ( not pack) for each level.

What will happen to us players with starting levels?
In next(some)update will we be able to receive the reward?

I guess the rewards are skins? Or like a daily gift but no high amount of gems?
I prefer the second.

How about anyone who makes it to top level of XP gets to personalise their banner men and great flags, kind of like a customised, unique skin?

Im Level 14 and 4526/8000xp if anyone wanna know
