Dismounting

This may sound absurd, but what about ability to dismount for cavalry units? I mean even knights can go foot during the castle attack and so on. So idea is to create an active ability to convert mounted unit into infantry version of it in terms of stats but with advantages and disadvantages of infantry units. Maybe it should look llike knight to footman. Lancer to spearman. Horseman with axe to axethrower etc. Not sure about permanent conversion. So I offer a discussion - does it make sense at all?

Yeah it makes sense, but the cost variation could be adjusted by balancing stats of normal infantry and stance form can be named unmounted #####.

Anyhow it has some logic in it.

Would be nice if we have at least one predecessor unit with such mounting/dismounting ability. May I give stats?

Name: Paladin (with fleur de lis either in his armor or shield)
Cost: 6 turn trainable at TC and Castle
Hp: 35 (25 dismounted)
Atk: 12 (10 dismounted)
Armor: 2/3 (2/2 dismounted)
Speed: 5 (3 dismounted)
Bonus: 50% (+6) vs melee, ranged, and siege units for mounted version
Bonus: 25% (+2).vs light infantry, ranged units and 300% (+30) vs fortified structures etc.

Acceptable?

Hoplite on an elephant
Maybe it should be knight with a squire. With person who can care about horse and its ammunition during the siege etc.
Speaking about stats i would give it much more armor. For six turns of production it seems too weak despite the versatility

Hey i seriously meant cruiser
And agree to armour part for unmounted. Mount dont need further more armour, since it has mobility.

Attack could be 15/10
Even though the same guy is hitting, mounting can keep some more thrust in the hit . And and a 6 turn mounted can get much more than a normal mounted, whether it has ability or not. And if the walking dude get enough more armour, he can be classified heavy and speed 3》2

Cruiser police
So the unit is trained as a mounted unit and can acquire the ability to unmount.
@Endru1241 it would be appropriate to move this topic into mounted from techs.

That looks too modern. Should be from ancient - renaissance.

I wasn't mocking. Just imagining op units. :B)
So it must be heavy unit like footman from castle i suppose. It make sense even because you're planning to make this unit buildable in castle generally. So yeah. 14/12 attack i think. 38/28 hp maybe and 5/4 down to 5/3 armor when unmounted. 5/3 movement. For six turns seems descent.

So we are not talking about large conception just a certain mounted unit with special ability and versatility? Maybe it's more logical.
