The SS was a paramillitary force, often untrained and mostly very ineffective. They were more of a Volksturm unit, which we already have.

WTF??? SS was the elite force of the german army during WW2 always equipped with the best stuff and the soldiers were best trained and extremely fanatical!!

Among the most succsesful tank commanders of all time were members of the SS.

I've read Forczyk's books about armoured warfare and watched documentaries about the overall effectivness of NKVD and SS units. In all of them the SS was depicted as a terrible fighting force, often staying behind the frontlines and mostly carrying out mass-executions and massacres. For example once an SS armoured unit simply rushed Soviet defenisve positions without recon and suffered enormous casualties. And originally the SS were political soldiers (not meant for combat) but later Himmler who had his leader's ear sent him a request to equip them with best equipment and send to combat. This means they weren't as good as often depicted. Obviously some of them were effective, had very competent commanders, but most of them simply weren't. I rest my case.

But you're right screw the SS from the game.

Mhmmm... The NKVD can work has a super official, giving bonus to all adjacent units, having grenades, etc.
