Troll ball thrower melee or ranged fighter?

For some reason, this fighter, being a long-range siege, is available for the effect of a double strike (which is applied to melee fighters) and deals damage to flying opponents. I believe that this is a balance issue, this fighter has always been too powerful, it is necessary to determine whether he does not damage flying opponents or does not receive a double hit.

Ball thrower is supposed to work as ranged unit like orc axe thrower or fire javelin thrower while at the same time dealing melee damage.
Also it must have "thrower" category so normal inf melee units will have bonus against it.

The essence of the question was why a shaman can impose on him the effect of 2 blows, which he does not impose on an orc throwing an ax and a fire spear?

does he do a counter attack?
Also the other races can't double stroke their throwers (and can't strengthen their ranged units)
I think, one in game explanation is that he throws a huge ball on a chain, so it's "meele with very long range" like a spearman with reach but then the range is so high.

All throwers and shooters must not be able to get any double strike effects in the first place.

So why, then, is this ranged fighter getting such an effect? I also previously believed that this fighter is a melee fighter with a high range, based on this, I flew to meet him as a rider on a drake, and thought that now I would incinerate this troll, and he would not be able to inflict damage on my drake because the troll is melee, however after a turn, he calmly kills my drake and, as if nothing had happened, continues to go through the mountains and shoot at my towers, in addition with 3 burning effects on himself. Or do you want to say that this will be fixed in the future?

I hope this gets fixed. remove double strike (and trample).

The unit is a thrower while its ability is counted as melee. I will fix it so that he won't be affected by double strike.

is it affected by trample?

I assume that it shouldn't since that's for melee units and not ranged.
So if it is, which considering it is affected by double strike currently it probably is, it should be removed.

If it is counted as melee I suppose it is. You can check by setting up a map in the editor anyway.

afaik, there is no other thrower that can be buffed with trample, so I agree with Savra that it should be removed

I just checked, it's classified under both melee and throwers so it's going to affected by any melee buffs

I already wrote that this will be fixed so both spells won't work on them as well. You can consider the topic ANSWERED.
